who i am
i am elinor. here you will find a bit about me, what enlivens me, and what i do. i am full of passion and pursuit.
i strive for a life of simplicity. like hemingway with his words, i am trying to pair down. i think this is the best way forward for each of us. it seems the simpler we keep things, the more focused we can be on what’s important.
i want to live a life of love and meaning. i am a work in progress, for sure. easily inspired, often unedited, never finished. i love adding in- new projects, new passions, new ways of being and serving - sometimes too much.
i believe in the truth.
i am amazed by much.
i turn to nature to feed my soul.
i am inspired by podcasts and people, reading and writing, music and the mystical. you will find some of that here.
i am excited by change, and pained by the loss that comes with it. i’ve learned about letting go: it’s not easy.
things that serve me: fires, food, fishing; creativity, conversation, and the connection that comes with these things. skiing, the seasons, and the sea; these things have taught me about balance.
i am part of a closely knit and far flung family - of origin and my own organization. we are modern and messy, but most importantly full of love and laughter. i love my solo time, especially in nature. it is here i am able to connect to the spiritual world.
i am middle aged, young at heart, and grateful for it all!
who i am too
(what i do)
i am a writer, coach, marketer, mother, meditator who enjoys wrestling with my observations about life and death matters. and the ridiculous of course.
i am curious about a lot.
i have worked in public relations, investor relations, sports marketing and fundraising. nonprofits, politicians, products, sports teams - i’ve promoted and written for them all. in recent years i have begun to write about things of a deeper nature.
my ‘formal’ education includes a bachelors in writing (st. lawrence university,) a masters in integrated marketing communications (northwestern university,) a certificate in health & wellness coaching (national wellness institute/university of wisconsin) and certifications in yoga, meditation, ayurveda, reiki, sound healing, as a stephen minister. i am currently pursuing a diploma in spiritual direction at san francisco theological seminary.
tending the spirit is fundamental.
